Trading My Sorrows

-
Eva grabbed Marj's hand, ran out the door and begged
"C'mon, Sister, C'mon!!!"

It had been raining for days and Eva kept telling me how much she loved the rain. Now she was going to prove it. And "sister" was in, "sister" was so in.
-
Our house has been a house of grief, but this moment of joy reminded me of this song:
-
-
--

Pressed but not crushed,
persecuted not abandoned,
Struck down but not destroyed.
-

-
-
-
-
-
-
I'm blessed beyond the curse
for his promise will endure
And his joy's gonna be my strength.
-
Though the sorrow
may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning
-
-
-
-
-
-
I'm trading my sorrow
I'm trading my shame
I'm laying it down
for the joy of the Lord
I'm trading my sickness
I'm trading my pain
I'm laying it down
for the joy of the Lord
-
-
-
-
-
As they dried off, Eva looked up at Marj and whispered,

"Can we do it again?
Just one more time?
Please??!!"

PS. Does my tire look flat to you?
