May I Present: Mr. and Mrs. Troy Carpenter

-
-
Troy got married July 18 (this post is way, way overdue) at The Living History Park in North Augusta, SC with the Reverend David Robinson officiating. (for those who don't know, Troy is Pam's son) The setting was absolutely spectacular.

When we arrived, we found Troy getting some last minute advice from his older brother.

Then we found Britta and Sandra having a little chat. I thought we stepped onto the set of Happy Days or something.

This was my first time to see baby Sofie and she seemed to be expressing some concern about the wedding. She just wasn't quite sure about something. Sofie was definitely the belle of the ball.

Come to think of it, there was another belle at the ball. . . Eva! She was entranced with the flower girl and couldn't wait to get her hands on the rose petals. She called the bride a "princess."

Besides the princess and the flower girl, Eva could only concentrate on one thing: The Cake. Every few minutes she'd lean over to her mama and stage whisper "when can I eat cake?"
-
Honestly. Who does she get that from??

We loved seeing Dave and Rose Ann again. They are doing great. In his "retirement," he has been the interim pastor at a church near their home. They took a turn admiring Sofie, although I don't think Sofie knew it.

The Living History Park is gorgeous. We had many photo ops. In the fall, the park offers "Colonial Times." They have reenactments, living exhibits and demonstrations for hornsmithing, pottery, tomahawk throwing, butter churning, weaving and spinning, quilting, candle making, scrimshaw, pewterer, musket firing demonstrations, calligraphy, gunsmithing, gold and silversmithing, blacksmithing, woodworking, and meat smoking and curing. This year's will be held on Oct. 17 and 18. If you go, be sure to stop by and visit with the Indian traders, the Backwoodsmen, the Sutlers, the Milliner, the Tavern Keeper, the Alchemist, and pet the animals!

And then we came to the end of the evening... the dancing.
-
The wedding was absolutely stunning. It was a relaxing afternoon of beauty and happiness and I am so grateful to have been a part of it.

Congratulations and Best Wishes!
