Art Smart

"People come and go in this Forest, and they say,
'It's only Eeyore, so it doesn't count.'
They walk to and fro saying 'Ha Ha!'.
But do they know anything about A? They don't.
It's just three sticks to them.
But to the Educated - mark this, little Piglet - to the Educated, not meaning Poohs and Piglets, it's a great and glorious A."

When Tom got his MBA, a little sump-somethin' was jiggling in the back of my brain. I couldn't get a grasp on what it was, but some vague thought was spinning around. Well, we were looking through an old scrapbook the other night and this Art Smart card fell out the back. Who remembers Art Smart from the game Old Maid?

Tom's sister Kathy used to call him Art Smart.
-
You can see Kath's handwriting on the card bottom "Tommy."

She was serious about this.

Along with the antique Art Smart card, we found several of Tom's elementary school report cards. There was a common thread in every single one of them . .
-
-
. . . Everybody enjoys Tom, but he needs to control his talking.
-
His teacher's comments were almost word for word what Tommy's teacher's comments were. What goes around, comes around.

See...it remains true that in this forest, things (apples, oranges, Piglets and Poos) do not fall far from the tree upon which they were nurtured. Ain't it great that what goes around does comes around again to make things so much sweeter the second time around?

I don't remember writing that. But it doesn't surprise me that I did!!! It's my bubble writing for sure!! I always looked up to Tom as one of the smartest guys I know (and still do) I never thought I could ever be as smart as him. He was a hard act to follow. SAT scores I almost choke on the thought of that..... he had an almost perfect score......... mine... lets just NOT go there. He never had test-a-phobia (like me). He also had the stick- to- it- of- ness which I have wonderful intentions but my following through is lacking!!
****Please note : not intentionally just I get side tracked out in Kathy world ..... guess I get that from Aunt Alice!!
I wish I still had that deck of cards so then I could show you who I thought I was, I think there was a skier who was all discombobulated I think I would be her!!! So if I could personally have a "big toe" of Art Smart, I would do just fine. Kudos to all of the ART SMARTS out there especially my favorite one, My Brother TOM :)
