Happy Birthday Daddy-O

-
So dad's 70th birthday came and went this past Thursday. Coincidentally, I had made the decision the stop doing my birthday blogposts, so I didn't have a post up for him on this his momentous 70th. And mom pointed out that his is the last birthday of the year in our family and I should have at least done one more birthday post to finish the year properly. Ooops, my B.

On his 70th, we spent the day working him hard decorating my house for Christmas. Then we had an awesome lasagne dinner followed by cake with family and friends. Eva made his hat and he wore it proudly. Emma conferenced in since she was unable to attend and remained in Charlotte with newborn brother Drew.

It was a casual event, no fancy attire required.

So. The birthday was kind of mellow. I'm so glad dad could come down here so we could be together. I usually miss his birthdays because it's so close to Thanksgiving travel plans. Also, I had heard he wanted to keep it small, no big blow out parties for his 70th.
